Sydney-St George

Day 1 6th August 2010

5:00am and we have left Sydney for 4 weeks and heading up north to the warmer weather. Away on time so we can get to St George at a reasonable time and the weather is looking really good as the sun is arising in the sky. At 8:00am we decided it was time to have a break so we found a McDonald's at Muswellbrook to have a quick ½ hr break.

Back on the New England Hwy heading to Gunnedah now stops now until we have to fill up with fuel and that will be at Narrabri. As it was starting to approach 12:30pm and looking for a spot to stop for lunch can't pull off the road as they have had a far bit of rain out here so it looked a bit boggy and did not fancy spending a night out here with the cold wind that is blowing. We found a rest area for lunch did not muck around as it was a bit cool much better in the car out of the wind. Now we are on our way to Moree. Once through we get on the Carnarvon Hwy heading to Mungindi and St George.

Nindigully Pub oldest pub in Qld

We had to do a quick detour as we found the oldest pub Qld called Nindigully so we stopped had a look and had to have a beer for the first day on the road. There is free camping there so we have to visit it again. We ended up staying 1hr then on the road to St George.
