14/8/2010 Saturday Cooktown – Lakefield N.P Day 10

Cooktown

The ones that were ready pulled our of camp about 7:30am as we were all meeting at the cemetery at 9:00am. Paul and I had a walk along he foreshore to have a look at the markets. We met McKinley's, Bamforth's at the bakery for coffee & a pie. By then it was time to meet the rest and get on the road.

Endevour Falls

Fox's in the lead and Giggenbach's at tail end charlie. First stop was Endeavour fall Caravan park as we had to call in and ask at the office if we could walk through the park and have a look.

Issabella falls

Then on to Isabella falls which we had to drive across before we could pull up and see them. That was 10:15am and walked around for awhile taking some photo's.

Old Laura Homestead

Now we had a short drive to Old Laura homestead we got out and had a walk around looking at the old buildings. Now all back in the cars again until we came to New Laura rangers station to see if we had a booking in any of the spots. While we were there we had some lunch as everyone was stating to get a pit peckish.

Now onto Lakefield rangers station and yes we found our booking that Jack had made so everyone self registration before heading off to find Hann Crossing. Once there we made a decision where to camp and we even had time to sit around and relax before tea. After tea all sat around the small fire and tonight the shackle went to Danial as he through his line our for a fish and caught the 2 trees.
