Day 3 Sunday Heading to Cairns

We stayed in Charters last night as we were going to be too late if we went 40ks the other side of Charters. We managed to leave Charters Towers at 6:30 before we had thought we would leave so it was good to get another early start. Our first stop is Greenvale Hotel which is the home of Slim Dusty's famous son “Three Rivers Hotel” this place is a quante little place must be a mining town. We had a look around not very big so it did not take us very long at all.   Back on the road at 9:19 lots of road works along this way we were stopping and starting at red lights all the way but when they have finished the road will be good. Now the weather is getting warmer every klm so soon we will be in shorts and t-shirts. We passed the turn off to the Larva Tubes 11:00am.

Wind Farm at Atherton

We stopped at Mt Garnet for lunch and we set of for Cairns at 12:20. Well we are now in Cairns at 2:00pm then we had to find the caravan park. Did some washing when we were unpacked then we sat around the camp site and had a few drinks before tea.
